Cerused White Oak Flooring

I don t think it s hit this area yet so my floor guy might not have done it before and we don t share the same primary language.

The type of wood used for this technique is usually oak but other types of porous wood can be used.

Work with the grain not against it. Use a wire brush to open up the grain. Get authentic hardwood in places where it couldn t be enjoyed before. The process involves three steps where wire brushing takes place that removes the springwood of white oak.

When quarter sawn oak is cerused we are able to add a white glaze and use a special brush to make sure the glaze seeps into the grain without affecting the color of the stain thus giving texture to the surface of the wood.
