The ring doorbell only works on the 2 4ghz wi fi band and its wi fi reception is poor. When you pull off the cardboard the main box is just a plain black package with the company s logo featured on the lid. New ring chime pro is an optional add on device for your ring video doorbell. I didn t realize it doesn t work with the 5ghz band.
55 people found this helpful. Ring has cranked the volume to 11 with this new chime so that you ve got a much better chance of hearing it at max volume. When the doorbell did work the first month we had it it was excellent 5 stars. The new version is three things.
Ring s original chime pro kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. There s the chime pro and the new chime pro. It looked like a radio wave box with bulky antennas facing up from both sides. It is easy to setup and the night light is cool but unless you have the other devices it is pretty much useless for my needs.
Its easy to setup and use. The base station and the keypads do make a chime and an alarm when a sensor is triggered a window or door being opened but this ring pro chime is solely for the other devices which stinks. So i connected the ring chime pro and it worked but it really didn t help much at all. The optional 29 ring chime or 49 ring chime pro can take care of that ring pro comes with four faceplates and you could always paint one to match your house exactly.
Its sides are concealed with a piece of sturdy cardboard that features the chime pro s image its main features as well as extra information about the device. I tried several outlets in various places between the router and the doorbell mostly with the same results. The chime pro from ring comes in a small yet sturdy box.
